Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Alterframe (the "Service"), operated by Alterframe ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Content Policy.

1. The Service

Alterframe lets you upload a face photo and a short video and generate a new video in which the face has been replaced using AI. Outputs are synthetic media: they depict events that did not occur and are generated by machine-learning models, including models operated by third-party inference providers on our behalf.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for your account credentials and for all activity under your account. We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts to protect the Service or comply with law.

3. Credits, payments, and refunds

  • Swaps are paid for with credits, purchased as one-time packs via Stripe. Credits are consumed per second of processed video, with a minimum per swap shown at purchase time.
  • Credits are a limited, non-transferable license to use the Service. They have no cash value and are not redeemable for money, except where a refund is required by applicable law.
  • If a swap fails for technical reasons, the credits for that job are automatically returned to your balance. Credits spent on jobs that are blocked or removed for violating the Content Policy may be forfeited.
  • We may change pack pricing and credit rates prospectively at any time.

4. Consent and acceptable use

Every time you create a swap you must confirm that every identifiable person in your uploads has given you their consent to have their face or likeness used in that swap. The Content Policy is part of these Terms and lists what you may not create, including sexual content, content involving minors, and deceptive impersonation. We may use automated screening and human review to enforce it.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of the photos and videos you upload and, as between you and us, the outputs you generate. You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, and transmit your uploads and outputs solely to operate the Service, including processing by our infrastructure and inference subprocessors listed in the Privacy Policy. We do not use your uploads or outputs to train models, and we do not sell them.

6. Synthetic-media disclosure

Outputs are AI-generated. You must not present an output as an authentic recording of a real event, and you are responsible for complying with disclosure and labeling obligations that apply to you (for example under the EU AI Act or platform rules where you share the output). You must not remove or obscure provenance signals that the Service embeds in outputs.

7. Enforcement

We may reject uploads, block or remove jobs and outputs, withhold forfeited credits, and suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms. We report child sexual abuse material to the relevant authorities. To report content that violates these Terms, use the report channel.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Output quality depends on your inputs and on third-party models we do not control.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alterframe will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Changes and termination

We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced on this page with a new "last updated" date, and continued use after the change constitutes acceptance. You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time via [email protected].
